CCR - Question 1
Q1. How do your products represent social groups or issues?
The main concept behind our music video is that the issue that is arising is regarding the fact that there are consequences for our actions and in the song itself, the protagonist is singing about her confessions and how she wants to be portrayed as, which is what is reflecting upon the entirety of the project itself and she is giving it a sarcastic tone at the end of almost each confession to give it a more non-serious sarcastic vibe to it. The main intention behind this is for raising awareness about the control each of us as individuals have as to how we would want to portray ourselves to humanity and to ourselves. This music video shows that people might control how they would want to be portrayed but in reality it is the complete opposite. The lyrics in the song itself keep talking about how she’s portraying herself but giving it a sarcastic tone to control the influence of her words. Our targeted audience for this product were teenagers since in this era its something that is very common amongst us and how people try and portray themselves as someone completely different rather than the reality of their true personality.
In the music video, the shots we used to add a slightly sarcastic tone were the ones with red and blue lighting but we also used different shots for example of the singer dancing around with the bodyguard as well as laying down upside town to convey that it is also okay to come out and show your true selves rather than portraying yourselves as someone you may not be.
